Kenny on hand to launch SFA Better Business roadshow17/04/2012 - 12:45:36
Taoiseach Enda Kenny today launched the Small Firms Association (SFA) Better Business roadshow, a series of annual events aimed at small firms looking for help to grow their business.
Now in its 5th year, Better Business Show will take place in 12 venues throughout Ireland from April 17 until May 10, with representatives from AIB, Eircom, Electric Ireland and Zurich on hand to give practical advice and tips.
The events provide free advice and assistance to Ireland’s small businesses across a range of critical business issues, such as assessing the economic outlook, accessing finance, using technology to deliver increased demand and growth, enhancing employee and customer relationships, saving money through energy efficiency and managing insurances.
Since their inception in 2008 the shows have seen a combined audience of nearly 17,000.
"Events such as The Better Business Show are invaluable to those in small business," Mr Kenny said at the launch in Dublin today.
"Participants will have an opportunity to meet other business people, to engage with experts and receive relevant, up-to-date information, assistance and advice."
SFA Director Patricia Callan said that now, more than ever, businesses are focused on helping each other to develop, sharing ideas and doing business locally.
“There are still almost 200,000 small firms in Ireland, with on average 12,000 new businesses setting up each year," Ms Callan said.
"They employ 655,000 people, more than half the private sector workforce.
"The Better Business Show is short, sharp and focused. It will leave people with clarity of vision and an impetus for growth."
