When seasonally adjusted the figures show exports were up €85m to €7.1bn, an increase of 1% on May's figures.

The annual figures paint a bleaker picture though, with the seasonally adjusted trade surplus down 2%, to €2.9bn, over the year.

Comparing June 2013 with June 2012, the value of exports decreased by €703m, a decrease of 9% to €7.36bn.

The main falls were in the export of Organic chemicals and Medical and Pharmaceutical products.

The Dairy sector is booming though with exports in the sector increasing by €55m or 33% over the year.
