ISEQ up slightly

The ISEQ index of Irish shares inched up 3.22 points to 3,101.26 by 11am today.
In the financial sector, Allied Irish Banks performed the best, adding 1c to move to €1.49. Irish Life and Permanent was unchanged at €3.93, with Bank of Ireland losing 4c to €1.48.
Tullow Oil was the best performer on the Exchange, following news of a €1bn acquisition in Uganda. The energy company soared 39c to €15.38.
Other significant gains came for Paddy Power (up 19c to €25), Kerry Group (up 14c to €22.14) and Kingspan (up 13c to €6.59).
The only loss of note came for Elan, down 17c to €5.47.
