ISEQ up, Elan makes gains

The ISEQ was up 1.17 points at 6633.08 at 11am today.

Elan made 26c (3.8%) to €7.06 this morning.

Irish Life and Permanent dropped 25c (1.7%) to €14.60. Bank of Ireland was down 4c at €12.80. Allied Irish Bank was unchanged at €17.05, while Anglo Irish Bank was also steady at €11.25.

Insurer FBD slipped 20c to €32.80.

Jurys fell 30c (1.6%) to €18.80, following news this morning that the Doyle family has purchased more than half the total stock in the hotel group.

Paddy Power was up 10c at €14.65. This morning, the publicity-seeking bookmaker made itself odds-on favourite to win this year’s Published Accounts Award.

Ryanair made a gain of 6c to €6.75.

Business support services company DCC lost 5c to €15.40.

Construction company Kingspan was the morning’s busiest share, and gained 5c to €9.84.

C&C fell 4c to €5.31 after this morning’s announcement that it had lost its contract to distribute Danone’s Volvic and Evian products in Ireland.

Exploration company Aminex was unchanged at €0.24. Aminex this morning announced new exploration rights in Madagascar.
