ISEQ slide continues
Irish shares were on the slide again this morning, with the construction sector again the main culprit.
By 11.45am the ISEQ index had declined 91.23 points to 7372.42.
It has been a generally poor morning for the financials, with Anglo Irish Bank the only climber, up 3c to €11.43. Allied Irish Banks was the worst performer in the sector, losing 23c to €17.98. Bank of Ireland (down 9c to €13.61) and Irish Life & Permanent (down 17c to €17.73) fared somewhat better.
CRH suffered a big decline, sliding 59c to €25.66. Elsewhere in the construction sector, Grafton dropped 41c to €10.14 after announcing results today. Kingspan was also down, shedding 22c to €13.13.
FBD endured the biggest decline of the day, plummeting 60c to €38.05.
It was also bad news for Kerry Group – it was down 21c to €15.81. Rival Donegal Creameries continued its recent upsurge however, climbing 10c €4.40.
Paddy Power continued to decline, down 22c to €12.90, with technology firm Iona dropping 24c to €3.16. Budget airline Ryanair was also down, dropping 13c to €7.37 in early trading.
