ISEQ down more than 3%

The value of Irish shares slumped by more than 3% in morning trading today, as the ISEQ index of Irish shares lost 87.78 points to 2,385.29.

The financials’ recent continued, with Irish Life and Permanent enduring the biggest decline, down 44c to €4.80. Allied Irish Banks shed 24c to €1.44, and Bank of Ireland lost 20c to €1.40.

The construction sector also performed badly. CRH declined 49c to €16.67 and Grafton Group was 20c worse off at €3.02.

Tullow Oil endured a 90c fall to €12.85. FBD (down 26c to €6.32) and DCC (down 11c to €17.75) also did badly.
