ISEQ down as Elan loses ground

The ISEQ index of shares finished the week on a low note is it closed down 16.83 to 6427.43.

After significant gains earlier this week, pharmaceutical giant Elan fell back a whopping 65c to €21.60.

Meanwhile, FBD Holdings gained almost 5% as it gained 85c to €21.00.

It was a positive day for most of the financials. AIB gained 7c to €15.52. Bank of Ireland increased 12c to €12.13, while Irish Life & Permanent closed up 5c to €14.30. Anglo Irish, however, shed 2c to €18.78.
