Irish hotel prices increase for fourth year in a row

Hotel prices across Ireland have increased for the fourth consecutive year, new research has shown.

According to new research from Hotels.com, Irish hotel prices rose by 10% last year to an average of €103 per night.

Dublin experienced the highest rise in prices, up 13% year-on-year, to an average of €109 per night.

The findings show Killarney in Co Kerry is the destination where visitors paid the most to stay - €111 per night on average - up 5%.

"Killarney is always really popular with the American visitors coming in, and they tend to stay in the more expensive hotels I would say in Killarney when they're there," said Hotels.com spokesperson Lizann Peppard.

"Cork was also up, 7% this year.

"Galway was 3%, Sligo was 3%, those are the changes there.

"But Dublin, I think, was the main driver (of the overall national increase)."
