Irish exports grew to record levels last year breaking the €16bn point for the first time.
That is according to Enterprise Ireland’s Annual Report for 2012 which will be published today.
The report shows client companies created nearly 13,000 new jobs last year primarily driven by the export performance.
Frank Ryan, CEO of Enterprise Ireland, said that despite a continued challenging economic environment in 2012, the organisation believes exports can continue to grow this year also.
"Exports have increased by almost €1bn year on year," he said.
"And employment has increased as well because this growth in export has converted into employment
"Last year Enterprise Ireland supported companies creating over 12,800 new jobs and led to a net increase of over 3,300 jobs primarlity driven by this export performance."
