Irish companies are losing out on billions of euros in Government tenders.
Over the next five years €90bn in supplies, services and works will be procured in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
However there are claims that 11% of those contracts are being won by overseas companies because local firms aren't aggressive or professional enough.
Chairman of tender consultancy organisation - Bid Management Services - is Peter Brennan: “Really what we are saying is companies need to up their game to get these extra contracts and they are well achieveable.
“In other countries about 2% of the total value of Government contracts go outside the country and in Ireland it is five times that at 11%.
“It is worth the best part of €8bn over the next five years.”
