Ireland 'second hardest place' to get a business loan in EU


Ireland is the second hardest place for businesses to get a loan in the EU.

Eurostat figures show that access to funding is particularly difficult for small and medium enterprises here.

The European Commission says the government must continue to keep a close eye on access to finance, as improvement in this area is crucial for future growth.

The report also shows that Ireland is among the top 10 EU countries for ‘innovation’, as it has a highly skilled workforce, numerous technologically advanced firms.
