Ireland has come 13th out of 55 countries measured for having the best reputation.
The Reputations Agency and Reputation Institute revealed today that Switzerland has the world's best reputation.
Ireland has dropped one place from 12th place in 2013 but is ahead of the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and the US.
The study measured levels of trust, esteem, admiration and respect with an online panel of more than 27,000 people representing the G8 counties.
Sixteen attributes were explored, including being viewed as a safe place to visit, having friendly and welcoming residents and being run by an effective Government.
