The High Court has appointed an interim examiner to Best Menswear.
Declan McDonald, of PwC has been appointed to work with the company to put it on a more sustainable basis into the future.
Best Menswear employs 135 people at 15 stores.
In a statement issued this evening, it said it had been struggling in a difficult market and last month's closure of Clerys had put an enormous strain on cashflow, compounding its trading difficulties.
Best Menswear is owed €270,000 from its concession in Clerys.
The company said it believed the appointment of the examiner and the adoption of a range of cost-control measures, will give Best Menswear a solid platform to continue to trade in Ireland, working with creditors to ensure longterm viability and to safeguard jobs.
