Govt facing criticism over poor broadband uptake

The Government is set to come under sharp criticism over the poor uptake of broadband services nationwide.

A report due to be published next week says price, hassle and structural resistance in the telecoms sector have put two thirds of customers off from switching to a high-speed connection.

The Dáil committee on communications is also due to issue a list of up to three dozen questions on why recommendations it made on the matter two years ago have not been implemented.
