Fyffes rings changes on board
Fruit distribution company Fyffes has announced a number of changes to its board due to the demerger of its general produce and distribution business.
Chairman Carl McCann, general produce and distribution division MD Rory Byrne and finance director Frank Gernon will resign from the Fyffes board with effect from tomorrow.
Carl McCann, Rory Byrne and Frank Gernon have been appointed to the board of Total Produce plc as chairman, chief executive and finance director respectively.
Following their resignations, David McCann will become chairman of Fyffes, Jimmy Tolan will become chief executive and Coen Bos will become chief operating officer.
Tom Murphy, deputy managing director / finance director of the tropical produce division, will be appointed to the board of Fyffes as finance director on January 2.
Rose Hynes (non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee) has been appointed as a non-executive director of Total Produce plc and will resign from the board of Fyffes with effect from April 30 next year, after completion of the 2006 audit.
