Financials make gains on ISEQ
27/01/2006 - 18:08:20The ISEQ index of Irish shares rounded off the week in style, up 95.33 points to 7586.54 by the end of day's trading.
All the financial heavyweights recorded gains. Bank of Ireland rose by 39c to €14.09, both Anglo Irish Bank and AIB rose by 14c to €13.09 and €18.54 respectively.
Irish Life and Permanent rose 15c to €17.40.
Construction company CRH gained 27c to €26.07, McInerney Holdings rose 21c to €11.40 and Kingspan was up 25c to €11.50.
This follows the Central Bank's first quarterly bulletin of 2006, in which it warned about the "worrying" trend upwards in house prices.
Pharmaceutical company Elan made on of the day's biggest gains, surging 55c to €11.85.
