Broadcasting Authority slammed for 27% rise in budget
03/03/2010 - 11:03:28The Broadcasting Authority is under fire for increasing its budget by 27% in just a year without any detailed explaination to justify it.
As a result the broadcasting sector will now face a levy which will cost radio stations across Ireland around €90,000 a year.
Independent Radio say the increase is "utterly unjustifiable" and warn that the industry is already suffering a 30% decline in advertising revenue.
