Euro-zone growth to lag behind US this year
31/03/2005 - 12:14:16A new European economic research project has predicted that economic growth in countries using the euro will lag behind US growth this year.
Euroframe, an alliance of bodies including Ireland's Economic and Social Research Institute, said growth in the so-called euro-zone was expected to be modest this year.
It warned that the biggest threat to growth prospects would come from a possible further strengthening of the euro against the dollar.
