Defence Forces staff body demands right to join ICTU
06/10/2005 - 13:45:04The organisation representing members of the Irish Defence Forces has called on the Government to let it join the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
The call was made at the PDFORRA annual conference in Galway today.
Gerry Rooney, the organisation's general secretary, said his members were at a disadvantage when it came to negotiating national pay agreements because PDFORRA was legally banned from joining ICTU.
