The number of people falling behind on their mortgage repayments has decreased.
There were 73,719 homes in arrears of more than three months in May - a drop of almost 5,000 compared to the end of March.
That is about 15% of the overall number of residential mortgage accounts.
The Department of Finance is keen to emphasise the number of mortgages being restructured - and it says engagements between homeowners and their banks has led to 69,306 permanent mortgage restructures.
Buy-to-let mortgages have a greater proportion of arrears, with more than one in four of investment properties in arrears.
