December sees decline in ECB funding draw-down


Irish banks are continuing to reduce their dependence on funds from the European Central Bank, according to figures released today.

During December, the funding drawn down declined by €4.8bn to €70.9bn - its lowest level since September 2008.

Year-on-year, funding drawn from the ECB has reduced by €36.3bn, or 34%.
