ISEQ edges towards 8000 mark
17/08/2006 - 17:59:22The ISEQ index of shares recovered from early losses to close 34.05 points higher at 7792.02 today.
It was a mostly good day for the financials. Anglo Irish was up 12c to €12, Bank of Ireland gained 5c to €14.80, while Irish Life & Permanent rose 3c to €19.25. AIB was unchanged at €20.30.
Ryanair was up 9c to €7.24.
Independent News & Media gained 3c to €2.34. The group will release its first-half results for this year on September 19.
Viridian gained 50c to €14.68. Energia, part of the group, has signed a nationwide power-supply agreement with Travelsavers Ireland.
