HP see Q2 profits soar by 51%

Hewlett-Packard has reported a 51% climb in net profits for its second quarter to the end of April.

Net income for the technology company, which employs 4,000 people in Ireland, was $1.5bn (€1.16bn), a rise of $500,000 (€387,000) on the same period a year earlier.

Revenue grew by 5% to $22.6bn (€17.5bn).

HP forecast that Q3 revenue would be around $21.75bn (€16.8bn), while full year revenue would be $91bn (€70.5bn), in line with expectations.
