There was an increase in the number of days lost to industrial disputes in the third quarter, when compared to the same period last year, according to the Central Statistics Office.
Between July and September, 571 were days lost to industrial disputes in Ireland - that compares to 93 days during the same three months in 2011.
The Central Statistics Office found that there was just one dispute in progress in the third quarter of 2012 involving 400 workers and one firm.
Meanwhile, five disputes in total were in progress over the first nine months of the year involving 1,920 workers and resulting in 8,486 days lost.
The highest instance was in the second quarter of 2012, when there were disputes at three firms involving a total of 1,445 workers and resulting in 7,754 days being lost.
