The number of trips being made to Ireland jumped 10.5% between July and September, according to the Central Statistics Office.
The CSO figures show that more than 9% more visits were made by British people, while the figure from other parts of Europe was up 10%, compared to the same time last year.
There was even better news from the North American market, with the number of visits up almost 16%.
The CSO data also reveal that there was a jump of 3% in the number of Irish residents heading abroad.
