Competition Authority clears Glanbia / CMP deal

23/03/2005 - 07:58:34
Food company Glanbia plc today confirmed that it has received approval from the Competition Authority to operate the CMP liquid milk, cream and juice-branded business of Cork's Dairygold Co-op.

The plan, which is worth €10m, was announced to the Stock Exchange on February 2. This initial effect was the loss of about 100 jobs at Dairygold's CMP plants in Cork and Mallow.

Dairygold's 130 milk suppliers will continue to supply Dairygold, and Dairygold will sell the 6.15 million gallon liquid milk pool on to Glanbia.
