CAP budget to be decided today

The Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) budget, which is worth a potential €11bn, will be decided by heads of government in Brussels today.
A delegation from the Irish Farmers Association have travelled to Brussels where the negotiations are taking place.
IFA President John Bryan has described these talks as the first key test of the Irish Presidency of the EU.
He said he would be impressing on the Taoiseach the importance of forging alliances with other member states.
"All negotiations in Europe are based on trust and alliances. It was very clear at the meeting in November, when talks broke down, that the Taoiseach had forged a strong alliance with the French, Spanish and other countries.
"It's important now that he builds on those alliances and in particular his personal relationship with Angela Merkel."
