The Tánaiste Joan Burton says she doesn't expect a decision on the future of the Government's stake in Aer Lingus "for some time".
Ms Burton says work is ongoing on a report from advisors, despite weekend claims that an interdepartmental group had given their report to the Department of Transport.
IAG has offered €1.36bn to buy the Government's Aer Lingus shareholding.
However the Labour leader says no sale has been agreed.
She said: "There is a whole series of discussions which are ongoing, but there has been no decision reached and I don't anticipate that there will be for some time.
"I am not aware that their report is complete. There are a number of extremely serious factors in relation to our livelihood as a country in terms of connections."
