New figures show discount retailers Aldi and Lidl won the Christmas supermarket war.
The German supermarket chains' growth hit Dunnes Stores and Tesco, according to data from polling firm Kantar World Panel Ireland.
In the 12 weeks up to January 5, Aldi's market share jumped 20%, while Lidl went up 12%.
Tesco's market share dropped over 6% in the same period.
Kantar's research also shows the Christmas price war benefitted the consumer, with grocery price inflation dropping to 2.9% from 3.4%.
