Airbnb sees number of guests in Irish homes almost treble

Nearly a quarter of a million people have visited Dublin through Airbnb in the past year.

The number of guests hosted in Irish homes overall have almost trebled in a year, according to new figures from the website.

Airbnb allows anyone to rent out rooms in their home, and there are more than 11,000 listings across the country.

The site is urging Irish people to open up their spare rooms to visitors over the busy summer months.
