AIB paid €50m in salaries to its top 250 staff last year.

The Sunday Business Post has reported that chief executive Bernard Byrne took home the largest share of just under €600,000.

The state-controlled bank made a profit of €1.9bn in 2015 and awarded a 2% pay rise to staff earning less than €100,000 - the first increase since 2008.
