2015 'set to be best ever year for Irish tourism'

Next year is set to be the best ever for Irish tourism, beating this year's 7.3 million visitors.

2014 saw growth of almost 9% over the previous year and 2015 is set to see a further rise.

It is estimated that tourism next year will be worth around €4bn to the economy.

CEO of Tourism Ireland Niall Gibbons said the extra revenue would drive job creation.

"2015 is shaping up to be the best year ever for Irish tourism," he said. "We're forecasting growth of 6% next year, which will see people spending almost €4bn in the Irish economy, driving more jobs."
