A woman is suing a university for $1.3m after being left unhappy with her final grade.
Megan Thode was furious when she received a C+ for her course at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania – where she attended for free because her father was a professor at the establishment - meaning she was unable to become a state-certified counsellor.
As a result, Megan - who needed a B grade to achieve her dreams - claims the mark destroyed her chances of becoming a professional counsellor and so she is suing for $1.3m, the amount she believes she would have earned.
According to the MailOnline, the 27-year-old student's lawyer told the court: "She's literally lost a career."
But Lehigh University's attorney told the presiding judge: "I think if Your Honour changed the grade, you'd be the first court in the history of jurisprudence to change an academic grade. She has to get through the programme. She has to meet the academic standards."
