Shop worker foils scam by spotting mum's name on credit card

A credit card scam in the US has been foiled by a shop worker who noticed her mother's name on the card.

According to Manor Township police, the employee recognised the 19-year-old man as being a former school mate when he attempted to buy petrol at a Pennsylvania convenience store she was working at.

After being found out he allegedly tried to put the card back into the shop worker's mother's car.

He was later arrested and taken into custody and is now being held on a $3,000 bail.
