A farmer claims he has spent two years cycling from China to London to watch the Olympics.

Chen Guanming reckons he's travelled nearly 40,000 miles from his home in China's Jiangsu province to London after being inspired by seeing London Mayor Boris Johnson accepting the Olympic flag at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Chen's rickshaw has scores of pictures of his journey, which spanned 16 countries and has seen him get chucked out of of Myanmar, battle a four-day snow storm in Turkey and travel through Iran and Afghanistan, the BBC reports.

Businessman John Beeston, who speaks Mandarin, discovered Chen looking "completely lost and downhearted" and listened to his extraordinary story.
