There is increasing concern that a UN and Arab-backed peace plan for Syria is in danger of collapse.
A ceasefire that has been in place for the last two weeks has failed to stop the bloodshed.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has said 29 people were killed yesterday, and a further 32 were killed on Saturday.
A veteran peace keeper charged with setting up the advance observer team has called on all sides to stop the violence and give the process a chance.
Major General Robert Mood said there are now 30 monitors on the ground, adding this will rapidly increase to 300.
