Woman charged in connection with Waterford death


A Waterford woman in her 30s has appeared in court charged in relation to the murder of Joe O'Brien.

Gardaí launched a murder inquiry after Mr O'Brien's body was found in an apartment on Scotch Quay in Waterford City on Monday night, with serious head injuries.

Joanna Kelly (aged 38), of no fixed abode but from Waterford, was charged with assault causing harm.

She was this morning emanded in custody to appear before Waterford District Court again next Tuesday.

Ms Kelly, who was granted legal aid, is the third person to be charged over the murder of Mr O'Brien.
