Fishing trawler towed back to port

Coastguard helicopter

A fishing vessel, which starting taking on water off the coast of west Cork, is now being towed back to port.

The 50-foot trawler got into difficulty at about midday, some 40 miles south of the Seven Heads.

The Courtmacsherry Lifeboat and the Shannon-based Coastguard helicopter came to the rescue of the five crewmen on board.
