Man admits Meath manslaughter


A 30-year-old man has admitted at the Central Criminal Court today the killing a 25-year-old man in Co Meath last year.

Mariusz Jarosz of Fitzherbert Wood, Navan, Co Meath pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to the manslaughter of David Mazur at The Glebe, Cherryvalley, Rathmoylan on January 6, 2011.

Mr Brendan Grehan SC, prosecuting, told the court the plea was acceptable to the State.

Mr Justice Paul Carney directed the preparation of a victim-impact report and the court heard the deceased’s family was travelling from Poland for the sentencing on June 18.
