Offaly and DIT through to Walsh Shield final

Offaly and DIT will meet in the Bord na Mona Walsh Shield final next weekend after semi-final victories over Wexford and Carlow respectively this afternoon.
Ollie Baker's Offaly charges were impressive as they claimed a 2-18 to 1-15 win at Wexford Park.
Joe Bergin scored 1-8 for the eventual winners who began this game strongly thanks to an early goal from Derek Molloy (1-2).
Molloy's goal and some good scores from Sean Ryan and Bergin helped Offaly take a 1-8 to 0-2 lead after 20 minutes.
Wexford outscored Offaly by 0-5 to 0-4 in the closing 15 minutes of the half, but the visitors led by 1-12 to 0-7 at the interval.
The Model men scored 1-3 without reply including a Danny Carroll goal early after the restart, but Bergin's goal put Offaly in the driving seat once more and they never looked back.
The midlanders will face DIT in the decider after a Niall Quinn goal proved the difference as the students accounted for Carlow by 1-15 to 0-15 at Dr Cullen Park.
Quinn's goal arrived just before half-time after DIT goalkeeper Finn McGarry had made a save for the students at the opposite end.
Not more than four points separated the sides on the restart, with Carlow edging their way back into contention late on, but Marty McKenna's charges held out for victory.
