Cork got a major jobs boost today after it was confirmed that recruitment is under way to fill 100 new posts.

Mowlam Healthcare has started recruiting after it was appointed to run the new community nursing unit in Ballincollig, Cork on behalf of the Health Service Executive (HSE). Building of the unit was completed in late 2009.

Mowlam Healthcare have begun accepting applications for positions which include a director of nursing, clinical nurse managers, senior staff nurses, staff nurses and healthcare assistants. A catering manager, chefs, general assistants, ICT technician, administrator/receptionist and activities therapists are also being sought.

Mark O’Keeffe of the Ballincollig Business Association welcomed the news, saying: “It is great to see a facility that’s been lying idle for so long being utilised. Once in operation, it will have obvious economic and social benefits for the town and will bring people from the hinterland of Ballincollig into town, which will positively impact other businesses.”

Mowlam Healthcare plans to open the 100-bed unit in the near future. It consists of two buildings accommodating 50 beds each, ensuite bathrooms and support facilities. It will provide public long-stay, therapeutic, rehabilitative and medical care for older people.

Anyone interested in applying for the positions can send their CVs to Human Resources, Mowlam Healthcare, Barrow House, Michael Street, Limerick, or direct via email to ballincollig@mowlam healthcare.com.
