'Exciting' Al out again soon

19/11/2009 - 13:32:05
Ian Williams is in no rush to make any definite plans for Weird Al following success on his chasing debut at Cheltenham last Friday.

Having just the third start of his career, the six-year-old stayed on gamely up the famous hill to put some useful rivals such as Knockara Beau and Ashkazar firmly in their place.

Williams feels there is plenty more to come from his charge and is hoping he will continue his education over fences in the coming weeks.

“We were obviously delighted with him and he’s taken the race well,” said Williams.

“We haven’t made any definite plans for him but hopefully he’ll be out in another novice chase fairly soon – definitely before Christmas.

“He’s obviously exciting and we’re looking forward to seeing how he gets on.”
