41% slide in new-car registrations
19/11/2009 - 11:43:04There were 1,596 new private cars licensed in October 2009, compared with 2,699 in October 2008, a decrease of 40.9%.
The number of new goods vehicles licensed in October 2009 was 803 compared with 1,399 in the corresponding month last year - a decrease of 42.6%.
In October 2009, the total number of all vehicles licensed was 8,038 compared with 11,908 during the same month in 2008 - a decrease of 32.5%, today's CSO figures show.
