Jedward sign deal with management company

‘X Factor’ twins John and Edward have already signed a deal with the management company who look after the show’s winners.

The group’s mentor, Louis Walsh, let slip the news while defending them against criticism for their poor singing - insisting they can go on to forge a career like presenting duo Ant and Dec.

Louis is quoted by Britain’s Daily Star newspaper as telling a friend: “I’m sick of people booing them. They are genuine boys.

“I took a chance on them and they’ve become household names, which is what I wanted. They can easily become the new Ant and Dec.

“The boys have been inundated with offers for TV and even modelling jobs because of their hairstyles.

“I can also tell you they’ve already been signed by Modest Management who look after Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and JLS.”

A spokesperson for the show insisted it was normal for contestants to sign with the agency – but not until after their departure from the contest.

They said: “All the dozen final acts sign with Modest Management – but not until they leave the show.”

Meanwhile, the duo will reportedly sing the ‘Wham Rap’ during this week’s show, where the six acts will perform George Michael songs.

The theme for the show has reportedly been changed several times – with Elton John hits also being considered – but insiders believe the final choice will suit John and Edward better.

A source said: "The theme has only just been decided which means less rehearsal time. Handily for the twins it wasn't Elton John week, or they may have struggled."
