O’Callaghan wary of Elsom and Williams influence
Ireland second-row Donncha O’Callaghan has said his team has to watch out for the influence of Rocky Elsom and forwards coach Jim Williams when they face-off against Australia on Sunday.
O'Callaghan said: "I played against him before, he seems soft alright! Ah no, that's one thing you couldn't call that man."
"I think last season's performance for Leinster sums him up, the way he leads from the front. I think Australia have seen that now as well and placed him as captain.
"He's a huge momentum builder for them really, the way he carries the ball and the way he gives everything every time he goes out and plays.
"I'm not surprised that he's captain now. I wouldn't believe any of those Leinster lads that are calling him soft," he joked.
“But I know by the way that he plays, that he can inspire you.”
And the Munster player also highlighted the influence of his former Munster compatriot Jim Williams.
O’Callaghan said: “We know Jim Williams will have an insight into how we operate, so we are going to have to have our homework done.”
