Superbug outbreak at Drogheda hospital

There has been an outbreak of the hospital superbug C Difficile at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda, it was announced this morning.

The HSE is advising visitors to stay away from the hospital and a number of beds have been closed to admissions.

The HSE says the outbreak of the bug has built up over the last 10 days.

A clinical specialist meeting to discuss the hospital's next move is getting underway this morning.
