Nama welcomes job applications for board of directors

03/11/2009 - 09:45:37
Suitably qualified candidates are today being invited to apply to become members of the board of Nama.

Finance Minister Brian Lenihan has placed advertisements in today's newspapers seeking expressions of interest for the jobs.

In the advert, Brian Lenihan says he has already received some expressions of interest for membership of the board.

"The ad placed in the national newspapers today stresses the candidates must not have any conflicts of interest likely to interfere with their ability to play a full part on the board" said Newstalk business editor Conor Brophy says there several terms and conditions for applicants.

"I don't know how you do that in a country this small, but considering you need banking experience, property development experience and construction experience, its hard to see how you would not have some conflict of interest with someone transferring assets to Nama."
