Fortune vows to shoot Hoops to the top
Marc-Antoine Fortune has vowed to score the goals that will allow Celtic to reclaim the Clydesdale Bank Premier League crown.
The 28-year-old French Guiana-born striker became Tony Mowbray’s first signing as Hoops boss when he completed a move from Nancy worth a reported £3.8m.
He now has his sights set on silverware as Celtic attempt to wrest the title back from bitter rivals Rangers, who triumphed with a domestic double at the end of last season.
“I know Celtic are a club who have been champions and I have come here to be a champion,” said Fortune.
“I’ve tried to learn about Celtic and have looked at their website. When I come to a club, I try to learn about it.
“It’s my job as a striker to score goals and I want to score here. I want to play good football and make the fans happy.”
Fortune is also determined to feature in the Champions League next season by helping Celtic come through a potentially hazardous qualification process.
“I’ve come here for that,” he said. “I don’t know who we are going to play but I would like the team to qualify for the Champions League.”
