Ireland bucking international trend on exports

National Irish Bank says Ireland is "defying gravity" when it comes to export performance.

In a report out today, the bank says that while global trade has been in freefall, Ireland has actually increased its goods exports.

It says comparatively low wages in private-sector manufacturing firms may be one of the reasons why Ireland is bucking the trend.
