BoI chairman outlines bank’s current priorities

The chairman of Bank of Ireland has told shareholders that the bank's main priorities at the moment are to support its customers, to strengthen its capital and to actively manage its credit risks.

Richard Burrows was speaking at the bank's AGM in Dublin this morning.

Several hundred shareholders have turned out to hear explanations for the bank's performance over the past 12 months, as well as its proposals for the future.

In the past year, Bank of Ireland has seen it share price fall to an-all time low of 12 cent and has also needed €3.5bn of taxpayers' money to prevent it from going out of business.
